Read First Before Buy SIG Sauer Metal Pistol Airsoft
I've had a few airsoft pistols, and this is by far the best I've owned - and it's not even the most expensive. It's nicely weighted and perfectly balanced. Quality feels good, although this is my first full metal pistol so I have nothing to compare it to really.
Loading is a cinche with one of those trigger style speed loaders, and I've been using it with propane and the $15 green plastic adapter available here on Amazon. I LIKE the plastic. It seats better than the metal units I've tried.
In terms of shooting - the white dot on the sights is a really nice quality touch. Shooting at 50 feet target, grouping is very tight so in terms of consistency I would give this gun a 5/5. Firing off a full clip in quick succession is very pleasing too, and the sound it makes with air release, and blowback action is a reasonably satisfying "thunk".
The claimed velocity on the box is 383 fps or something.. and I wouldn't doubt it. I have a bolt action airsoft rifle that doesn't pack as much punch.
Not sure what weight the BBs are that come in the box, but this gun is happy with anything from .12g to .25.. and in fact the .25 BBs seem no slower and hit a target with a very satisfying force. I don't have a chrono so can't give any numbers.
On the orange tip.. Well that is what it is. I hear different debates on what is legal, and not even sure if it is legal to remove this even if the gun never leaves your house.. who knows, but for what it's worth, this is orange paint. Notice (you can see from the pic) that this protrudes out the front of the gun (like a Berertta) which is NOT like a Sig, so if you wanted to rid the thing of the orange tip AND make the gun a better replica you just have to cut off the tip, put a smooth edge on the cut, and paint black.
All in all. RECOMMENDED.
Pros:
1) Gas - so semi auto without the pain of CO2 cartridges
2) Happy on propane, so practically free to use
3) Blowback action is super satisfying
4) White sight dots, and adustable (left/right) front sight
5) Full metal feels great.
6) Price
7) As with any GAS powered pistol, it's great to have the ammo and gas in the magazine. Means you can buy a few and load up.
Cons:
1) No safety. Not a deal killer but it is what it is. You do have a knob to release the hammer which is "pseudo" safety.
2) Protruding front barrel is unlike the real SIG but better this with an orange tip than the manufacturer being forced to paint the front of the rail orange to satisfy US requirements.
3) The loader tube that comes with it is a bit of a fail.. not sure how they expect you to use that. Buy a speedloader for $3.
ive been looking at gas guns and i like the caspian and kjw m9 anything else worth looking at?

BalasHapusI was thinking about getting a H&K P8 from Umarex. It supposedly has 2 joules (430 fps with .23 gram 6mm bbs). I was wondering if this is too much for an airsoft battle. If so could somebody recommend another pistol preferably from Umarex since this is one of the few companies I can get airsoft guns from.
