Great Buy

Condor Recon Chest Rig Tan

Seller and Amazon provided a great buying experience. The product itself is easily adjustable and fits comfortably. Keep in mind that the mag carriers are built in (as advertised) so you cannot move them. They are placed exactly as I want them, though, so this was a good buy for me.

I run 6 mil-spec STANAG magazines for my primary along with 4 Springfield XDM 9mm 19-round magazines for secondary, a first aid kit in MOLLE pouch on right of the mags, two silencer pouches and a 1-liter water bottle carrier on the left. The pistol mag pouch straps are attached via velcro, so you can adjust them to fit a variety length pistol magazines.

Keep in mind, the pouches are intended to keep your gear secure, not to provide speed loads. Getting the STANAG mags out of the kangaroo pouches isn't bad. Putting one back in can be a challenge, especially under stress. If you want to retain all your mags, you will probably either need a dump pouch or a lot of practice (always a good idea anyway).

The straps nicely padded so a full load is comfortable, while fitting snugly enough to not rattle around. There is no obvious means of attaching this to a belt so your lower back may feel the strain if you load heavily and wear long-term, but the trade-off is much greater freedom of movement in your torso than with a tight tactical vest.

You may find that the carrier rides higher on your midsection than you expected, which you can adjust if you like, but keep in mind you may need that clearance to be comfortable sitting and to not interfere with any belt you may choose to wear along with it.

I have not had the chance to torture test this carrier yet, so a few months of use and abuse will tell if it holds up. So far, I'm quite pleased with it. Just keep in mind how you want to run your gear. If the magazine/pistol pouches aren't where you want them, look elsewhere. Otherwise, it's a pretty good deal.

  1. I got way more than expected for the price with these item. Looks to be made from quality materials, good buckles and a ton of extras. The pistol mag pouches are adjustable to fit different size mags and it fits well. Haven't tested it yet in the dirt but plan to soon. I would recommend this to a friend.

  3. This chest rig is amazing for the price. Upon first examination, it was exactly as I expected from Condor, excellent quality for the price. After I played with it for a while I found that the pistol magazine flaps are removable, they are attached inside by velcro. My P-Mags fit perfectly with the bungee cords nice and snug. There is also room for two extra mags on either side of the rig. There is a compartment for a chest plate, and a mesh compartment for documents behind that. All in all this rig cannot be beat, and once you factor in the price you would be crazy not to buy. If you are hesitating because the air soft boys play with it... Don't this rig is the real deal.

  5. This is an outstanding rig for the price you pay. Very good bang for buck. I have a lot of condor gear now and I find them to be outstanding buy for the money. If your a joe or will be using this rig Every Day then get something a little better maybe but to be honest if you dont use every day there is not a better deal out there.

  7. Looking at this product it is very clear that Voodoo Tactical has quality a standard. I have a shotgun scabbard made by Voodoo and that holds just as high of quality. I am bigger than normal guy and this rig has ample room for a guy my size. The pouches are sewn but for my intended application this makes a perfect chest rig, the pouches are at a perfect placement for magazine extraction but if you are looking for a plate carrier than you might want to look elsewhere. This is a great rig I recommend it to anyone looking for a good rig for running drills.
